Caprolactam is a monomer. It is polymerized to be Polyamide-6 which is one of high performance plastics. Caprolactam is produced by multiple Chemicals processes. The processes also produce a co-product, "Ammonium Sulfate." The co-product is used as fertilizer in agriculture. Caprolactam is available in 2 forms. One is molten form which is delivered by 20-ton ISO tank. The other is flake form which is packaged in 25kg bag. Due to its low melting point, molten form is only economical for domestic delivery.
